Energy-specific risk

Physical disruption can become market volatility.

Energy CFDs are leveraged derivatives. Supply disruptions, inventory data, policy decisions, weather, outages or geopolitical events can produce fast moves.

01

Leverage & margin

Leverage enables exposure larger than margin committed and magnifies gains and losses relative to supporting funds.

02

Volatility, gaps & events

Data, weather and supply events can produce fast moves and price gaps.

03

Spread, liquidity & slippage

Fast or thin markets can change available quotes and final execution.

04

Trading schedules & closures

Product hours, maintenance, holidays and reference-market closures can affect trading.

05

Financing, rollover & expiry

Position financing, rollover adjustments or expiry treatment may apply.

06

Conversion & no ownership

Account-currency conversion may apply, while the CFD provides no physical ownership or delivery.

01What is an Energy CFD?

An Energy CFD is a derivative linked to changes in an applicable energy-market reference price. It provides price exposure without transferring physical ownership, storage rights or delivery of oil, gas or refined products.

02Which Energy CFDs can I trade with RG?

The current September 2026 schedule lists WTI Crude Oil (USOUSD) and Brent Crude Oil (UKOUSD). Other Energy references on this page are for market education only. Confirm actual availability, symbols and specifications against RG’s current approved product schedule.

03What is the difference between WTI and Brent?

WTI and Brent are distinct crude-oil benchmarks. Location, quality, transport and regional or global balances can contribute to different price behaviour. The applicable RG specification determines each CFD’s reference and pricing method.

04Do I own or receive physical oil or gas?

No. An Energy CFD provides price exposure only. It does not provide physical ownership, storage, transport or delivery arrangements.

05How do trading hours, expiry and rollover work?

These arrangements vary by product. Reference markets, daily breaks, holidays, expiry, rollover and adjustment treatment must be confirmed against the applicable RG product specification.

06What costs and risks may apply?

Applicable costs may include spread, commission, overnight financing, rollover adjustments and currency conversion. Energy CFDs also carry leverage, volatility, gap, liquidity and slippage risk. Review the formal product specification and risk disclosure before trading.
